Edward Lawrence died on 23rd September,1914, after having been sent to a hospital in Paris, but as yet there is no further information concerning his death. The 1st East Surrey battalion was part of 14 Brigade, 5th Division, that had arrived in France at the beginning of the war a month earlier. |
